Hi! Before I get to my project for today I’d like to thank LeAnn from the Paper Players for choosing my card as a cut above. I am incredibly honored to be chosen considering the talented people who enter these challenges. If you missed my card, you can see it here. Thank you!
The challenge from the Paper Craft Crew is a color challenge. You could use just three colors if you wanted so I chose: Pink, Plum, Smoky Slate. I used the Misti to stamp the sentiment on the front in Perfect Plum ink. I cleaned the stamp and stamped it a second time in Versamark so I could add clear embossing powder and heat emboss it. I added that layer to a Pink Pirouette panel and then to the Smoky Slate card base. I ran a strip of Perfect Plum card stock across the card. For the focal point I heat embossed the image with Black Ink and Clear embossing powder. Then I took an inexpensive paint brush and colored the image with Bleach. I flicked the brush around the image to create the speckles. I’m not sure if it is rain or snow, what do you think? Anyway after the bleach dried, I colored the dress and umbrella using ink refills and my Clear Wink of Stella. I hadn’t tried this technique before and it was a fun one to try. I would say be sure to wear old clothes when working with the bleach unless you are super careful 🙂 .
Stamp: Beautiful You Paper: Smoky Slate, Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plum, White Ink: Stazon, Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Versamark Accessories: Clear EP, Clear Wink of Stella, Stampin’ Dimensionals (non Stampin Up: Bleach, paint brush)
After the bleaching and coloring was completed I adhered it to the Pink Pirouette and Perfect Plum panels and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I was trying to make this more of an uplifting card rather than a Sympathy card, hence the inside words.
I hope this inspires you to try a different technique and have fun!
Thank you for stopping by today!
